CAPTIVE INSURANCE COMPANIES Captive insurance companies include either single parent or group-owned captives. The latter category includes Risk Retention Groups. These assignments involve assistance to the sponsor or prospective parent of a captive with its formation and funding. This includes preparation of the business plan and financial pro formas for the domicile regulator; coordination of legal, actuarial, accounting, and reinsurance functions; and all other necessary steps to help organize a functioning captive insurance company.
